The Apostle Paul’s Continual Obsession
The Apostle Paul wrote half of the books in the New Testament. There is clearly a range of topics and issues that he communicates to the early believers in the first century. When you carefully observe the heart and passion behind Paul’s letters, one major topic reigns supreme. The gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul was never the same after meeting with Jesus on the road to Damascus in Acts 9. The next 32 years he spent sharing the gospel message to all who would listen, building into the lives of disciples and churches everywhere. Paul’s heart cry and focus is seen in passages everywhere throughout his writings. In Romans 1:1-4, 16-17 he makes it abundantly clear where his passions and life work stood:
” 1Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh 4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord…”
“16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Transformation in a person’s life comes through believing in the shed blood of Christ, who died for the forgiveness of one’s sins. Jesus death gave us right standing before God. Only in Christ are we reconciled, justified and have peace with God. The greatest message we could tell anyone is the gospel message. In the New Testament, Paul was a great example.
Keep The Main Thing, The Main Thing
In all your activities be sure to include the message of Christ. You are armed with the message that brings eternal life. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day – proving He was our Messiah. He is still alive today.
Take all your disciples through the “Big Six” training. Using the “Knowing God Personally” booklet, it is a very effective way to train people to share the gospel message for life. Make this a top priority in the next couple of weeks in your ministry situation. Here are the links to get the training:
