God Wants To Use You As A Transformed Person

Cru Weekly Ministry Tip, Spring 2012, #7

Romans 12:1-2
1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

First, present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice. Second, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Paul makes his appeal to the readers as strongly as he could without making it a command. The “body” (in Hebrew thought) represented the whole person inside and out. We need to give all of ourselves to God, not just a part.

In verse 1 we see that thoughtful and intentional service to God is what He desires. With the time you have and the gifts He has given you, how can you best serve Him in the ministry on your campus or your ministry situation wherever it might be?

To not be conformed to this world is a lifelong process of continual transformation. We need to continually renew our mind and rededicate our lives to Him. The world’s attraction is non-stop, therefore our transformation needs to be continual. We cannot let our guard down. With our total dedication to the Lord, we can better experience His will for our lives.

Romans 12:1 is our clear act of presenting ourselves to Him. Romans 12:2 is a lifelong course in the process of transformation. Memorize these Scriptures to keep them in your mind.

Using Online Tools To Help You Reach Your Campus

Don’t forget, if you’re trying to help your students come to Christ and you need some material, go to the EveryStudent.com web site. It is a treasure chest of information to help people get their questions answered and help lead them to Christ. Maybe you can turn some of the material in this site into a Bible study and use it in your group time to help those who are still searching.

For those who have just placed their trust in Christ, go to the StartingWithGod.com web site. This will help people start their walk with God on solid ground. Check it out.

Be fully committed and transformed so you can help others come into a relationship with Jesus and they can become committed (present their bodies) and be transformed in their minds. Be that person God wants you to be.
