Who Will You Leave Behind As Your Legacy?

Weekly Ministry Tip #9 Spring 2014

Who Will You Leave Behind As Your Legacy?

As believers, one of the things we would love to leave behind us is a spiritual legacy. I would love to see all my children and grandchildren walking with the Lord long after I am gone. I also want to see disciples I’m personally working with to continue serving the Lord.

Jesus’ plan was to build His life and ministry into a few who would take the message of the gospel, under the power of the Holy Spirit, to the rest of the world. Notice what Mark 3 says about Jesus’ ministry to His disciples (feel free to read the chapter for context):

Mark 3:13-14

13And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him. 14And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach…”

Under the leadership of the apostles, along with many believers that Jesus left behind, the world has never been the same. The question for me and for you is – “Are we being intentional about reaching out to specific people in our life so that we might disciple them? Who are the people in your life? Am I feeding them the Word, pointing them intentionally to Christ and godly living?”

Making Christ An Issue

Continually be thinking about how you can proclaim Jesus everywhere at your school, city or ministry situation. Be creative each month with at least one big event you will try to host. Consider showing the video called Falling Plates in your weekly meeting or Bible studies. Give as many people as you are able to, a chance to hear the claims of Christ.

Videos That Can Help

On our CruPressGreen website there are a number of excellent training videos available to help you in many areas of your ministry. Check them out. Be sure to notice that near the top of the page, the videos are organized by categories. You can use some of these videos to help train your disciples as well as help give more perspective to your leadership team as you plan for your ministry.

Summer Projects Are Here

Time is running out for you to go on a Summer Project. If you have an opportunity, why not take a step of faith this summer and attend one of many Summer Project options around the U.S. and the world. This could be an amazing time of letting God work in a special way in your life. Recruit others to come with you. You may never get over it.
