Weekly Tip #1, Spring 2015
17 Things to Know This Spring
1.
Keep Prayer an emphasis in your ministry. It has been said that we should talk to God about men before we talk to men about God. This is very true. But also when it comes to planning our campus Spring ministry activities, we need to flood the Lord with prayers, asking Him to move in a powerful way.
Psalms 127:1-2 says:
“Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.”
What the writer here is indicating that a builder’s work on a house would be wasted unless God is in it, blessing his steps. Work that is done separately from the Lord will be futile. This is all the more reason to pray sincerely that the Lord would go before us in our ministry situation and location, as we “build” His ministry.
Similarly, we should pray for the Lord’s protection. We need to ask God for His protection, blessing, and that His work would be accomplished as we pray according to His will.
Questions to Ask Your Ministry Leaders:
- How can we make sure we make prayer a priority in our ministry this Spring?
- What intentional steps can we take to pray individually and as a group?
- At our first weekly meeting and in our Bible studies, should we first talk about prayer?
- What new and creative ideas can you try to encourage people to pray, as you begin your ministry this Spring?
And yes, you can pray for God to bless and multiply your prayer ministry. Second thing to know this Spring – coming next week.
