Weekly Tip #3, Spring 2016
God Has A Role For You
Romans 12 (NLT)
3 Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. 4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
As you read this passage in Romans 12, ask yourself these three questions:
- As you think about your local Cru ministry (or wherever God has you serving), what do you honestly feel you’re good at? (saying that you’re not good at anything is not an option)
- What role can you play that will help advance God’s kingdom in your ministry situation?
- How can you make more time in your schedule to do the best job possible at advancing what God is doing in your location?
Once A Month Strategy
This Spring, do a big evangelistic event each month. One of the major purposes for ministry is to share the life-transforming message of the Gospel. When you regularly share the Gospel, your ministry will stay dynamic and not static. You will have people to regularly follow-up with. Some of these new people that you meet will begin to come to your meetings and possibly become future leaders.
Keep sharing the Gospel, keep growing your ministry, keep multiplying new disciples. This can all be sparked by your big evangelistic event each month. Go for it.
