Weekly Tip #4, Spring 2016
What Makes Us Different
As we seek to make a difference in our culture and in our specific ministry situation, God calls us to be set apart. It is the Holy Spirit that makes a difference in our lives as we fully submit to His control and empowerment. What does it look like? Here is a glimpse from Romans 12:
9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
What areas are true of you? What areas do you need help with? Who might help you?
Ask the Holy Spirit to build these wonderful qualities into your life this week.
Summer Missions/Big Break
Conferences and retreats play a significant role in helping people to take major steps forward in their Christian growth. When you get away from your normal setting to place yourself in a teaching and discipleship rich environment, the Spirit can work in a powerful way. That is one of the goals of life, to grow closer to God and how we might live out His will on a daily basis.
Summer Missions and the Big Break could be the next steps you need to grow your faith. Check them out here:
