Weekly Tip #9, Spring 2016
Recently I’ve been taking a fresh look at the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. The passages, which come to mind, powerfully explain why the Holy Spirit came.
From the words of Jesus in John 16 –
7 “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you…
13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”
From the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5 –
“15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit…”
Feel free to read these passages in context. We all need the filling (control and empowering) of the Holy Spirit so that all our work for the Lord will have greater impact. Never give up on the ministry you’re involved in. We have the Holy Spirit’s power and presence continually with us.
Emphasize the Satisfied Booklet This Week
In your Bible studies/Weekly meeting, make it a point this week to re-engage with the importance of being filled with the Spirit, moment by moment. This is always a great reminder. Here is the theology behind the Satisfied booklet. Also, check out this teaching video to give you some pointers as you share this concept with your disciples.
Talk to you next week,
