We are just a couple weeks away from Thanksgiving. You have been working hard at helping the Cru ministry on campus to keep growing. You’ve had Bible studies to prepare for, meetings to plan, people to meet with for follow-up or discipleship, and of course sharing your faith. When you also add in all your studies, papers and tests, no doubt life may be feeling really busy.
Proverbs 3 says: “5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
2 Corinthians 4:1, 6-7, 16-18 “Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 6 For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
“16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Consider for a moment that God wants you to both trust Him and rest in Him. He does not want us to lose heart. We carry the message and light of Christ within us as jars of clay. He gives us the power to do His work. In our walk with Christ we can be renewed day by day. All we do for Him is eternal. We simply need to keep our eyes on Jesus. Let’s stay encouraged, motivated and filled with faith. Don’t let your feelings get the best of you, instead trust in His Word.
Just Before Thanksgiving
These next two weeks are important because you want to finish encouraging everyone, who is able, to attend their regional Christmas/Winter conference. This will give all the students in your ministry the opportunity to go home over Thanksgiving and clear their schedule with an employer, parents/family plans. Still wondering about your conference information? Go to this site: http://campuscrusadeforchrist.com/students/conferences-and-retreats/christmas-and-winter-conferences
