17 Things to Know This Spring – #8, “Who Is Next?”

Who Is Next For Your Leadership Team

Men in desert

Ministry in your environment is never to be done alone. It is important that you train, select and challenge the right group of leaders to help you lead your ministry.

A major part of Jesus three year active ministry as recorded in the Gospels, was ministering to the masses, but also focusing on a small group of 12 men who become His apostles. We read in Mark 3:13-14,

13 Afterward Jesus went up on a mountain and called out the ones he wanted to go with him. And they came to him. 14 Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles.[a] They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach…”

It was these disciples, along with many believers, as seen in the book of Acts, who would turn the world upside down. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and they were on a mission. Jesus effectively passed the baton of ministry to His top leaders who would in turn have a great impact on the world.

If you are graduating or transferring to another school this fall, the question is: What legacy will you leave behind? Who will you pass the baton of leadership to once you’re gone?
